Continuing Education provides a wide range of educational opportunities for training and development professionals. All of the course work has been based on the Amercian Society for Training and Development's (ASTD) Models of Excellence study of critical competencies for training and devleopment professionals and are taught by Portland State University faculty and exemplary practitioners. Course work is offered in Portland and Salem and results in PSU credit and one of three certificates of completion.

Customized Training Opportunities for Trainers: Continuing Education in the Graduate School of Education can design programs to address the specific needs of professionals within business settings, agencies, and institutions. These programs may be offered with customized scheduling and at on-site locations.

Graduate School of Education: Continuing Education and the Graduate School of Education work together on all offerings. This relationship allows Continuing Education to develop and maintain quality programs that are designed to fit the needs of trainers.

Professional Development Center: The Professional Development Center is dedicated to assisting individuals achieve job satisfaction, workplace excellence, and personal growth. It provides a variety of noncredit courses, seminars, customized training, and institutes to the greater Portland metropolitan area.

Center for Student Success: The Center's goal is to support Oregon School districts' plans to ensure success for all children and the elimination of the achievement gap.

Early Childhood Training Center: The mission of ECTC is to foster the development of healthy environments for children and families through approaches that are:

• systems based
• relationship centered
• process oriented
• culturally sensitive

The ECTC provides training and consultation to social service providers, state and regional agencies, educational institutions, community groups, and policy makers on how to best meet the needs of children and families.

Center for Healthy Inclusive Parenting: CHIP provides training, consultation, and technical support to service providers, policy makers and community members to ensure that gender inclusive services are offered to communities, and that under presented families are effectively served. CHIP operates from a strength-based model, building on the assets of families' systems and the communities in which they live and work.
