Tracey Adams

Tracey Adams, MA, has been in the training and development/OD field for over 14 years. She has held training and development positions in retail, health care, manufacturing, hospitality, higher education and government. Her areas of expertise are in leadership coaching, emotional intelligence development, program design and performance improvement. She holds a graduate degree in training and learning technologies from the University of New Mexico and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in organizational leadership. Ms. Adams is the head of talent development and organizational effectiveness at Bonneville Power Administration and teaches human capital management in the MBA program at the University of Phoenix, Oregon Campus. Her favorite class to teach is the Training Methods class at PSU, where her years of researching brain-based learning strategies has enabled her role model non-lecture curriculum to keep her students engaged both in class and online.

Janet Marie Bennett

Janet Marie Bennett, PhD, founded the Intercultural Communication Institute (ICI) and now directs the University of the Pacific individualized Master of Arts in intercultural relations. She specializes in developing theory and training methods in intercultural communication. Dr. Bennett created the liberal arts program at Marylhurst University and facilitates professional development for university faculty and administrators, international student advisers, health care providers, corporate managers, caseworkers, and others in the private and public sectors. She was given the Senior Interculturalist Award from the International Society for Intercultural Education, Training, and Research, as well as the Golden Penguin Award from the Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development.

Karen Bjorklund

Karen Bjorklund, MS, is the principal of Bjorklund Business Relations and provides consulting and training on management, team building, communication, planning strategies, and marketing. For more than 12 years, she has been a speaker at national and local conferences and has led seminars and instructed classes. Her awards and honors include the Outstanding Manager Award from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission and the Award of Excellence from the Oregon Columbia/International Association of Business Communicators.

Glen Fahs

Ardith K. Bowman, PhD, designs and facilitates programs to help managers develop in the core areas of self management, issues analysis, and initiative. Dr. Bowman has over five years experience in designing online MBA programs and management curriculum, and has taught management and leadership courses. She currently is a faculty member at Westwood College, Denver. She has researched the association between management strategies and employee development. Dr. Bowman continues to explore the science of managerial development by applying adult development theory to a variety of curricular projects. She has consulted with organizations in the areas of team and manager performance through coaching, program design, and teaching for over 12 years.

Glen Fahs

Glen Fahs, PhD, is adult education director of training and organization development for the Cascade Employers Association, a human resource nonprofit agency serving more than 500 organizations. He has directed several continuing education departments and served as a management consultant in all sectors for large and small organizations, such as Nabisco, Time Warner, Entek International, Multnomah Athletic Club, cities, counties, and Hollywood Entertainment. For more than six years, Dr. Fahs was responsible for the state of Oregon's statewide management training. He has performed board and other volunteer leadership roles for United Way, the Oregon Ethics Commons, and the American Society for Training and Development.

Rebecca Perry

Rebecca Perry, MA, is a seasoned leadership coach and consultant with over 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors. Partnering with leaders at all levels in the organization, she supports clients to identify and expand their strengths and achieve increased effectiveness. Ms. Perry’s early management career included coaching and training the management team of a Fortune 500 company, where she was recognized as being among the company’s top internal consultants. As an independent consultant, she’s successfully coached and developed leaders at Hewlett Packard, Mentor Graphics, Microsoft, Nike, Bonneville Power Administration, the State of Oregon, universities, and a wide range of small and mid-sized organizations. Clients describe her approach as focused, insightful, engaging and results-oriented. In addition to holding dozens of certifications in tools such as the MBTI and Hogan Personality Assessment, she is a certified mediator, a member of the International Coach Federation and is affiliated with Accomplishment Coaching. Her master’s degree is in applied behavioral science and organizational systems.

Dorothy Sermol

Dorothy M. Sermol, MA, is director of Intercultural Communication Solutions, a diversity consulting and training company through which she designs and conducts training programs in diversity, gender issues, acculturation and immigration, conflict management for higher education, health care, social services, and private industry. As an educator, Ms. Sermol headed a government sponsored interracial program in San Francisco schools, and taught intercultural and interpersonal communication at Portland State University, Lesley Graduate School in Massachusetts, and Linfield college in Oregon. She is a native of Scotland where she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, and has lived and taught in Germany, Italy, Spain and Japan.

 

Katherine Stevens

Katherine Stevens, MEd, is an instructional designer at Creative Media Development, where she is responsible for designing classroom, multimedia, and Web-based training. Ms. Stevens has 10 years of experience as an instructional designer and has many years of experience in software development. She is past president of the Cascadia Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.

Dan Vetter

Dan Vetter, MS, is president of Vetter Solutions, an independent consulting firm specializing in instructional design, training delivery, and process improvement. Mr. Vetter invested 12 years working in training and development and continuous improvement at a Fortune 500 company in Omaha, Nebraska, prior to moving to Portland. He has taught in the human performance improvement programs at the University of Nebraska and Drake University as well as serving as president for the Cascadia Chapter of ASTD.
