Gina Moreno, MS, has been working in the field of special education for over 24 years. She is currently employed by a local school district as a special education district facilitator and is in a private practice providing staff development services, workshops, and student behavioral/educational program support to school districts and families. Ms. Moreno is a third-year doctoral student in Special Education at PSU. Additionally, she is working on a special education personnel staff development ODE grant project for a local school district.
Amanda Sanford, PhD, is an assistant professor of special education who teaches courses in literacy methods and assessment. Her professional emphasis focuses on research and consultation on prevention of reading difficulties, reading assessment, intervention, Response to Intervention, and schoolwide systems of reading instruction and positive behavior supports. Dr. Sanford consults with and provides professional development to schools, districts, and the state department of education in the areas of using assessment to guide instruction and effective instructional practices.
