Sue Bert, MS, is a course instructor and cohort leader within the special education department at the Graduate School of Education. She teaches courses focused on professional collaboration and consultation among general education and special education teachers. Her areas of expertise include transition, person-centered planning, team facilitation, and collaborative teaching in secondary schools. Ms. Bert co-leads this program cohort with Barbara Ruben and Stephanie McBride.

Chris Borgmeier, PhD, leads the positive behavior support focus area and teaches classes related to behavior and classroom management. His areas of professional emphasis include schoolwide positive behavior support, functional behavioral assessment, school reform, behavior analysis, and behavior management in the classroom.

Ann Fullerton, PhD, is a professor and is currently serving as chair in the department of special education at Portland State University. She teaches instructional methods and assessment courses in special education. Dr. Fullerton's interests include transition, self-determination, students with autism, and recreation for students with disabilities.

Tiffany Jones, MS, is a full-time instructor for Portland State University. She holds two teaching licenses and has been teaching students and providing mentoring and behavior consultation to teachers in elementary and special education settings since 1987. She earned her bachelors degree from Warner Pacific College and her masters in special education from Portland State. Ms. Jones teaches literacy courses and leads part-time cohorts through the licensure process, as well as supervises students during their practicum and student teaching experiences.

Barbara Ruben, EdD, has worked with preservice teachers in the Graduate Teacher Education Program (GTEP) at Portland State University. She started teaching sixth grade in Portland Public Schools in 1980 and has taught every grade from kindergarten through eighth. Her doctoral work examined whether a teacher education program can influence the development of teachers as change agents.

Amanda Sanford, PhD, is an assistant professor of special education who teaches courses in literacy methods and assessment. Her professional emphasis focuses on research and consultation on prevention of reading difficulties, reading assessment, intervention, Response to Intervention, and schoolwide systems of reading instruction and positive behavior supports. Dr. Sanford consults with and provides professional development to schools, districts, and the state department of education in the areas of using assessment to guide instruction and effective instructional practices.
