This session focuses on strategies for being open and confident in cross-cultural situations both in your school and in your life. It is an entertaining, high impact presentation that explores the nature of differences and focuses on helping the individual, and the team, focus on a proven cultural competency strategy. Greg Bell will introduce a straightforward, universally applicable step-by-step method for understanding Cultural Competency (the gregbell curve™). The gregbell curve™ is a practical, research based four-stage model designed to assist participants in their approach to Cultural Competency. Participants are asked to examine and express their attitudes about cultural competence and then to examine a strategy that is both personally and professionally positive. The presentation will be engaging and provide a way of working that is principled and preserves everyone's integrity.

Greg Bell, JD, is a speaker, consultant, trainer, and facilitator specializing in personal and organizational transformation in the area of leadership, ethics, change management, customer service, teambuilding, and cultural competency. Mr. Bell earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and his law degree at the University of Oregon. He is recognized as a leading resource for meeting facilitation, inspirational speaking, and entertaining trainings. Mr. Bell works with schools and colleges across the northwest in addition to businesses, nonprofits and governmental agencies. Greg is dedicated to the delivery of programs that combine practical, hands-on training with skills to challenge awareness, to enhance participants' ability to work and live in an increasingly diverse environment.
