The Counselor Education program and Continuing Education/School of Education admit students to the Couples, Marriage, and Family Graduate Certificate on an ongoing basis. The sequence of courses, however, makes it advisable that a student be admitted prior to the fall term when the first course is offered. The admissions process takes approximately four weeks from the receipt of complete admission packets.
To be considered for admission, candidates must:
- Be enrolled
in, or a graduate of, an accredited college or university master's program
in counseling or related field.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or
higher if applying with 12 or more graduate credits.
- Have three
years of experience in the human service area or strong academic
credentials.
- Fulfill the requirements for graduate certificates at Portland State University.
