The growth in e-learning and online learning has increased dramatically in the last 10 years in school districts and institutions of higher education. The movement into online education and e-learning has resulted in a significant need for practitioners (e.g., teachers and instructors, instructional designers and technologists, and administrators) who can knowledgeably take a lead in these efforts.
Portland State is meeting this need through a 15-quarter credit/noncredit, online certificate of completion program. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Analyze e-learning needs
- Apply learning theory, instructional theory, and system theory in the design, development, delivery, evaluation, and maintenance of e-learning programs
- Lead and manage e-learning technology teams
- Manage
online training/distance learning organizations and
e-learning technology projects - Provide timely advice on current and emerging technologies
