Hamideh, MA, has worked as an instructional designer in the Distributed
Education department at Portland State University since 2001. During her
time at Portland State, she has helped hundreds of faculty members design their own
Web courses and learn about technology that could improve their teaching.
A graduate of the MA TESOL program at Portland State, Ms. Hamideh's specialization is in
computer-assisted language learning.
Maggie McVay Lynch, EdD, has developed over 40 online courses for colleges, universities, and private industry during her 25 years in education. She has taught online courses in counseling, education, business administration, management information systems, and computer science. Dr. Lynch currently supports faculty in delivering instruction using technology both in the classroom and online. Her research specialization is Web-based learning. Previously, Dr. Lynch worked at Franklin University in Ohio, developing their online degree offerings in five undergraduate majors and an MBA program.
Tom Luba, MS, is the director of learning options at the Linn-Benton-Lincoln Educational Services District (LBL ESD) in Albany, Oregon. Mr. Luba's responsibilities at LBL ESD include electronic learning, the OPEN Clearinghouse and COOLSchool, alternative education, instructional support, and home-school programs. His previous position was director of distance learning at Portland State University, where he managed several distance learning programs and provided University-wide leadership in distance and distributed learning. His previous positions include coordinator of distance education in the school of agriculture at Purdue University and instructional media specialist at an international agricultural research and training organization located in Mexico. Mr. Luba received his master's degree in education with a specialization in instructional technology from Purdue University.
Dennis Schultz, MS, has added the role of COOLSchool principal to his duties. For more than a decade, Mr. Schultz was a research assistant in geophysics in Oregon State Universities college of oceanic & atmospheric sciences. In 1990, he earned his certification in elementary education. He was a classroom teacher in Newberg School District and was later hired as their technology coordinator. Since December of 1996, he served as the OPEN Clearinghouse (OPENC) coordinator, where he was responsible for overseeing development of online resources for Oregon teachers. At the height of development, the site was averaging over 600 daily user sessions. In 2001, he was appointed development coordinator for COOLSchool. Mr. Schultz holds a master's degree in information technology and completed his Initial Administrative License in 2000.
