Management Training for New Directors
This presentation was made by Johnnie Cain, PhD, of the Region X HSQIC at the 2003 National Head Start Conference for Directors. The lecture touched on issues about managing Head Start organizations, including attitudes toward change, systems of management, national training guides, team assessment tools, and leadership philosophies. Systems Matrix: A systematic design for work plans for the operation of Head Start programs is explicit in the new performance standards. A model that “tells us exactly how well you are operating in measurable and qualitative terms” is required. Dates for Head Start Actions: A timetable for compliance with the new federal regulations to be used as part of your work plans. (MS Word .doc)
