The off-campus master's degree cohort in curriculum and instruction offers educators an opportunity to participate in an innovative block of coursework toward a master's degree in education (MA or MS). By the end of the program participants will have completed 30 credits toward a master's degree (total 45 credits necessary for the completed degree). The remaining 15 credits may be transferred into the program provided they meet the University's transfer credit criteria.
Participants will be admitted into a "cohort" for a full two years. All members proceed with the program as a group. The courses will be offered in a one-time sequence at the designated site. In order to ensure funding, students will need to commit for the duration.
Our goal is to help develop thoughtful and caring practitioners who have the knowledge, skills, and desire to critically examine classroom practices and who will work to improve them in ways that are conceptually sound, ethically responsible, and culturally responsive.
